Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of japanesefy.com and the Japanesefy daily Japanese learning game (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who may use the Service

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms where you live. If you are under the age of legal majority, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not directed specifically to children under 13.

Service and educational limits

Japanesefy provides free daily Japanese reading and vocabulary challenges, learning articles, hints, statistics, and streaks. No account is currently required. We allow ordinary personal and educational use, including use by teachers and students.

Japanesefy is a supplementary practice tool, not a school, certification provider, translator, or substitute for a qualified teacher. Japanese readings, meanings, romanizations, and usage vary by context. We work to provide useful material but cannot promise that every challenge or article is complete, current, or error-free, or that using the Service will produce fluency or a particular academic result.

Progress, statistics, preferences, tutorial status, and streaks are stored in your browser. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, or changing browsers or devices may remove them. Japanesefy does not currently back up, synchronize, or recover this locally stored information. Our Privacy Policy explains how other information is handled.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service unlawfully or violate another person's rights.
• Interfere with the Service, bypass security, access private endpoints, obtain secrets, or introduce malicious code.
• Use automation in a way that creates excessive load, ignores technical restrictions, or extracts substantial portions of the Service.
• Republish, sell, or commercially exploit substantial parts of our original content, software, or interface without permission.
• Deliberately manipulate advertising impressions or clicks.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, its providers, users, or legal rights.

Intellectual property and feedback

The Japanesefy name and branding are used to identify the Service. Except for third-party materials, the Service's software, interface, original articles, challenge curation, and original visual assets belong to the Service operator or its licensors and may be protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Japanese characters, words, readings, and general language facts are not claimed as our exclusive property. Third-party names, marks, advertisements, and materials belong to their owners.

If you send a suggestion or error report, you permit us to use it to improve the Service without compensation or an obligation to implement it.

Advertising, external services, and availability

The Service may display advertising from Google AdSense and participating providers. An advertisement is not an endorsement by Japanesefy. Your interaction with an advertiser or external site is governed by that third party's terms and policies.

Japanesefy also depends on external hosting, analytics, and infrastructure providers. We may correct content, modify features, suspend access, or discontinue all or part of the Service. Maintenance, provider failures, network conditions, security incidents, or events outside our reasonable control may interrupt it.

The Service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Japanesefy is not responsible for temporary unavailability, reasonable content errors, or loss of information stored only in your browser. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Law, changes, and contact

These Terms are governed by Brazilian law without excluding mandatory rights you have where you live. Before starting a formal claim, contact us so we can try to resolve it. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts under applicable law, including mandatory consumer forum rights.

We may update these Terms when the Service or applicable law changes. The revised version takes effect when published unless a later date is stated. We will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice for material changes.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Questions and content-error reports can be sent to contact@japanesefy.com.
