Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-11

This Policy explains how Japanesefy ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use japanesefy.com and the Japanesefy daily Japanese learning game (the "Service"). Japanesefy is operated from Brazil and is responsible for the processing described here. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to contact@japanesefy.com.

Information stored in your browser

Japanesefy does not currently require an account. The game stores gameplay information and preferences in your browser, including progress, statistics, streaks, tutorial status, and language settings. This information preserves your experience between visits and normally remains on your device. A language-preference cookie may last for up to one year.

You can remove this information by clearing Japanesefy site data in your browser. Doing so resets locally stored progress and preferences.

Service providers and analytics

We use Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, performance, and security, and PostHog for product analytics and error diagnostics. These providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, approximate location, security signals, and events such as changing writing tracks, using hints, or completing a challenge.

PostHog may use first-party cookies and local storage with a pseudonymous browser identifier to recognize visits across sessions. This helps us understand how people return to and use the Service.

Session recording is disabled. If a client-side error occurs, PostHog may receive an exception event, but it does not record the session. We do not intentionally include names, email addresses, or typed answers in product analytics events.

If you contact us, we process your email address and message to respond and keep an appropriate record of the request.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense. Google and participating advertising providers may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers, and process information about visits to this and other sites. Google uses advertising cookies to serve, measure, personalize, and limit repetition of ads.

Where required, a Google-certified consent platform provides advertising choices. Rejecting personalized advertising may result in non-personalized or limited ads. Learn how Google uses information from partner sites, manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, or use industry choices at aboutads.info.

Purposes and sharing

We process information to provide, localize, secure, and improve the Service; preserve browser-local progress; understand aggregate product usage; diagnose errors; prevent abuse; display and measure advertising; and respond to requests. Depending on the activity and where you live, we rely on providing the requested Service, legitimate interests in operating a secure free game, consent for personalized advertising where required, and legal obligations.

We disclose information only as needed to hosting, security, analytics, diagnostic, communications, and advertising providers; professional advisers or authorities when required to comply with law or protect rights and safety; and a successor involved in a transfer of the Service. We do not exchange personal information for money. Some laws may define personalized advertising disclosures as a form of "sharing," which you can control through the choices described above.

Providers may process information in countries with different data protection laws. They are responsible for applying transfer safeguards required for their services. Browser-local data remains on your device. Other information is kept only for the configured provider periods or as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and abuse prevention.

Your choices and rights

You can clear Japanesefy site data to remove locally stored game progress, preferences, and the PostHog browser identifier. You can also block cookies in your browser and manage Google advertising through Google Ads Settings. Browser privacy tools may block analytics requests.

Depending on where you live, including under Brazil's LGPD or European data protection laws, you may have rights to information, confirmation, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, information about sharing, or withdrawal of consent, subject to legal exceptions. Because Japanesefy has no accounts, we may be unable to connect a request to pseudonymous provider data without additional identifying information.

Send requests to contact@japanesefy.com. We may need to verify the request. You may also contact your local data protection authority. In Brazil, you may petition the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) after first contacting us.

Children, security, and changes

Japanesefy is a general-audience learning game and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not request names, contact details, age, or accounts from children. Parents and guardians should supervise minors' use and advertising choices. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information.

We use reasonable measures intended to protect the Service and information, but no internet system is completely secure. External links, including advertisements, are controlled by their operators and subject to their policies.

We may update this Policy when the Service, providers, or law changes. We will publish the revised version here, change the "Last updated" date, and may provide additional notice for material changes.
